Hertzberger's vision of architecture: Tour and Expo at Tivoli
During this tour and exhibition, you will discover architect Herman Hertzberger's vision in practice, in a building partly designed by him: TivoliVredenburg. Experience how his ideas on space, structure and social interaction come to life - and why they are still relevant today.
Prepare for an active voyage of discovery in which you will not only hear Hertzberger's ideas, but also see, feel and experience them within the walls of the building itself.
Hertzberger's sustainable vision: timelessly relevant, yet vulnerable
Herman Hertzberger designs buildings with longevity. Many of his creations still adorn our surroundings, sometimes in their original form, often adapted or transformed - exactly as he intended. His architecture is deliberately designed as a flexible structure that moves with the times.
Yet it is striking and a shame that some of his work has been demolished or is on the verge of disappearing. Just now, Hertzberger's ideas on sustainability, adaptability and fostering social connections are more topical than ever. His designs offer answers to questions we struggle with today.
