Visit Trans Link Systems (public transport chip card)
Description
TLS was set up specifically to realise the national public transport public transport chip card system. The starting point is that all Dutch public transport companies can be connected to the new system. For travellers, the way of paying for public transport changes. The OV-chipkaart is rechargeable and contactless. The OV-chipkaart replaces the strippenkaart, the paper train ticket and paper season tickets. Passengers can use the balance or product loaded on the OV-chipkaart to travel.
Trans Link Systems is responsible for the integrality of the entire new system and for issuing the OV-chipkaart, which is needed to use the new payment system.
During this company visit, you can get an idea of what the production process of the OV-chipkaart looks like. This will include the aspects involved in producing these cards, such as security in electronic payments, user-friendliness and introducing these cards to travellers.
By the end of the presentation, you will have a picture of the development of the OV-chipkaart so far, the functioning of the electronic exchange, the central function of TLS and the envisaged national introduction.
In addition, there will be an interesting tour along the production line of the OV-chipkaart.
Due to access control, it is necessary to be able to identify yourself upon entry with, for example, your driving licence or identity card
