Océ museum and coffee shop
Description
As the first activity in this new year, we invite our members to visit the Océ Museum. The Océ museum offers its visitors a bird's-eye view of Océ since its foundation in 1877 by Venlo pharmacist Lodewijk van der Grinten.
Océ was one of the trademarks in the 1920s and 1930s and later became the name of the company and the call sign of its products. In the 1960s, Océ broke new ground with the application of electro-photography and copying on plain paper. From the resulting profound knowledge of offices and especially the flow of information and communication, Océ entered the field of office automation. Since 2009 Océ has been part of the Japanese CANON group. Some (former) Océ employees who are the driving forces behind this Océ museum will show us around the rooms where all this is on display.
After the tour of the museum, we will go on our own to the famous Chapel of Our Lady of Genooi. You can visit the chapel here on your own or go directly to the Genuujerie. Koffieschenkerij Genuujerie is located next to the chapel and provides a nice cup of coffee or tea and a piece of flan. This coffee shop is a place where people with and without intellectual disabilities work together
