Boon Edam, revolving door systems, etc.
Mr Boon's contracting company cum carpentry shop, started in 1867 in Amsterdam, made its first revolving door, made of wood of course, in the early 1900s. Since then, the company has become a market leader and a leader in many countries, as was made clear in the presentation by Mr Henk Goede, marketing manager. Since the first revolving door, development has not stood still. Today's revolving doors are of a lightweight construction of aluminium profiles of our own design and equipped with the latest technology such as sensors etc. in connection with safety in use. Hence, the product range also includes access systems that function with simple cards up to and including iris recognition. Access systems include the well-known turnstiles but also single-person revolving doors for securing classified areas and also, for example, jewellery shops. All this became clear during already mentioned presentation and the tour of the company and viewing of the showroom. Noteworthy in the company was the organised manufacturing from a single door to very small series: the installation sizes can be adapted to existing buildings and new construction as required. A revolving door is a door that is always open and also always closed. This is the core of the company's message. Potential customers are told that by saving energy, a payback period of up to three years can be achieved. This 300th activity featured a particularly high turnout, with 44 members in attendance.

approx. 12.30 sandwich lunch in the company canteen;
followed by a presentation about the company;
then a tour of the factory, coating hall and showroom will take place.
The afternoon will be concluded around 15.00 with coffee/tea/soft drinks.
