Data centre developments and investments in Europe
The Board of KIVI Region North-West has the pleasure of inviting you to attend a lecture to be given by Mark Gregory (founder and managing partner) and Nils Siekman (partner) of Photon Capital and Wouter Mezger (Chief Operating Officer) of Penta Infra.
Photon Capital is a specialised Dutch investment firm with a focus on building and maintaining long-term partnerships with companies that have significant impact on the future (digital) economy. Growth is thereby pursued through active, long-term value creation - i.e. not only initial capital investments, but also ongoing market technical support and strategic advice to address challenges and seize opportunities.
One of the partner companies is Penta Infra, a fast-growing provider of reliable and sustainable data centre services with high connectivity in Europe - currently in the Netherlands, Belgium, France, Germany and Denmark.
By the end of 2023, Penta Infra acquired the KPN data centre in Haarlem. It will be transformed into a modern and sustainable data centre - named AMS01 - in the Amsterdam Metropolitan Area.
In order to use as much of the data centre's residual heat as possible sustainably for entrepreneurs in business park Waarderpolder, Penta Infra and heat company Polderwarmte signed a letter of intent in 2024, stating their intention to continue working together.
Location
The familiar Teahouse has reopened after a major renovation.
A special feature is that the newly built Cruquius Pavilion next to it now brings together the collections of the Cruquius Pumping Station museum, the Historic Haarlemmermeer Museum and heritage association Meer-Historie at one location. The history of Haarlemmermeer's 2,000 years of land, water and air can thus be told in its entirety, as the prime example of how the Dutch battled with the water and how agricultural pioneers set to work on the reclaimed land.
From April 2025, the Cruquius Pavilion will be open to visitors.
