At the brand-new Shell Technology Centre Amsterdam, 1,300 researchers and lab staff from Shell work continuously on improving, innovating and making cleaner fuels and chemicals and their production processes. Technology support, consultancy and research services contribute to answering energy issues. With centres in Houston, Rijswijk and Bangalore, the new Shell Technology Centre Amsterdam is one of Shell's four main research centres worldwide. The Shell Laboratory moved from Overhoeks to its new workplace at Grasweg 31 in early 2009. Bim Pannenborg, project director of the STCA project gave a fascinating presentation on the creation of the new laboratory, with Transparency playing a key role in the programme of requirements. We were then shown around by Pannenborg and Jos Rijsemus . A very successful visit. Despite the firm winter weather, the turnout was large, as many as 38 participants
