ACRRES - Lelystad
On 26 March 2013, a substantial representation of KIVINIRIA engineers will be warmly received in Lelystad at ACRRES, or the 'Application Centre for Renewable RESources'.
Based in Lelystad, this national practical centre for renewable energy and green resources is designed for energetic cooperation with energetic partners. That engineers are energetic shows. During the presentation, serious and interested questions are asked from time to time to that afternoon's hostess, Ms Andrea Terbijhe. She rapidly explains that new techniques (prototypes) for renewable energy and green raw materials are being developed and tested at this location. The emphasis here is on closing the loop.
As the sun shines, a number of questions are answered at the installations. Seeing the set-ups in real life is very interesting. The co-fermentation plant, the bioethanol plant, the algae pond and the pre-processing plant impress. People are constantly asking questions or discussing among themselves. They drive in column to inspect the solar meadow. Then the engineers look inside a wind turbine. Chilled and windblown, a number of engineers, over drinks, talk for a long time about the (im)possibilities of unlimited renewable energy that does not harm the environment and future generations.

Description
Due to climate change, rising energy demand and the importance of energy security, attention is increasingly focusing on the availability of renewable energy. Renewable energy is energy that is available to us indefinitely and does not harm the environment and future generations.
The Application Centre for Renewable RESources, ACRRES, is the national practical centre for renewable energy and green resources and is located in Lelystad. The practical centre is a joining of forces between the Lelystad knowledge institutes Praktijkonderzoek Plant & Omgeving and the Animal Sciences Group, both part of Wageningen UR. Both Flevoland province and Lelystad municipality support the ACRRES initiative: For an energetic collaboration with energetic partners.
ACRRES wants to develop, test and demonstrate sustainable energy from solar, wind and biomass as well as applications of green raw materials and cycles, together with companies, interest groups, governments and education, and offer learning opportunities on this basis. For example, ACRRES has a wind farm, a solar meadow for a practical test of solar panels, is looking at optimal use of all residual streams through co-fermentation, has a farm-scale bioethanol set-up and is looking at the energy source of the future, algae.
Guest lady is Ms A. Terbijhe, General Information and Acquisition.
