Aebi Schmidt Netherlands
At Aebi Schmidt in Holten, better known in the Netherlands as NIDO, we were warmly welcomed by Messrs Tijhuis and Heijloo. With a presentation on the products and their possibilities, it became clear that Aebi Schmidt is serious about innovation. By means of various electronic modules on the truck or spreader, targeted spreading is possible, both per location and per type of slipperiness or temperature. Aebi Schmidt has thus redesigned the spreading policy, improving safety and minimising the amount of salt spread. Aebi Schmidt also has input in the standardisation of the quality and control of the spreading in itself.
The tour of the production line showed, that Aebi Schmidt has implemented standardisation there too. With JustInTime delivery of parts, optimum stock is controlled. This makes it possible to successively integrate different types and models of gritting machines in the production line.
With approx. 200 employees including 22 service vehicles on the road, Aebi Schmidt is a leading company in the Netherlands.

Aebi Schmidt Netherlands, formerly Nido Universal Machines, based in Holten, manufactures smoothness control equipment, branded Nido.
Last winter, we saw how important this equipment is, but the associated after-sales also play an important role. In the Netherlands (Holten), Aebi Schmidt has about 200 employees, with a production capacity of about 2,000 gritting machines per year. The entire Aebi Schmidt Group has about 1,300 employees, spread across various countries including Germany, Switzerland, England and Poland.
At Aebi Schmidt Netherlands, we get to see the Nido production line, which the machines go through, explaining the latest developments in such areas as spreading dosage. But attention will also be paid to Aebi Schmidt's other services such as: the Schmidt sweepers and the multi-purpose vehicles. In addition, you will be informed about spreading management and salt spreading strategy
