Piezo technology is already widely used as a sensor and/or actuator in various applications and products without people often being aware of it. Examples are mobile phones, sonar, watches, parking systems, airbags, inkjet printers, keyboards, but also for keeping complex industrial systems free of vibrations.

What possibilities does piezo technology offer and what developments are taking place in the field of new piezo materials and applications? In what ways can this technology offer solutions to technical and societal challenges?

Jan Peters, director of Imotec and chairman of the Applied Piezo Foundation, will give an introduction on this topic.
