Description
The Board of the Groningen Engineers Association invites you and your partner to a lecture by Ir. Jan van Elk on Tuesday 10 April 2018 in the Oldehof Room of Astoria.
Mr Van Elk works at NAM as Development Lead Groningen Asset.
About the lecture:
Jan van Elk, together with his colleague Dirk Doornhof, leads the research programme on the origins and consequences of gas-induced earthquakes in Groningen. This started in 2012 and forms the basis for the risk estimates in NAM's Extraction Plans. The programme covers the entire chain from the cause (gas extraction) to the consequences for buildings and people in the gas extraction area.
This presentation will discuss the main components of the data collection and studies. Finally, the risk assessment will also be discussed.
The indicative programme is as follows:
19:40 Reception with coffee/tea
20:00 Start of lecture
20:45 Break with coffee/tea, continued lecture
21:30 End of lecture, questions
approx. 22:00 Closure
