HoSt's combined digester
Description
HoSt is the Netherlands' largest supplier of bioenergy systems, supplying complete systems: biogas plants for farm and industry, wood-fired boilers and combined heat and power plants, and fluidised bed gasifiers.
HoSt focuses entirely on the technological development of processing special biomass streams and supplying systems for sustainable energy generation from biomass.
One of their current projects is Twence's combi digester, which is nearing completion. In it, roadside grass and food scraps will soon be fermented and biogas will be supplied. This will then be converted into heat and electricity in a cogeneration plant. The residual material can be composted. From 1 tonne of input, 200 kWh of electricity can be generated in this way. The plant can process a total of 2,000 tonnes of waste per year
