Description

"From next year, every street corner will have a charging point for electric cars, lease cars will be electric and we will take out special mobility subscriptions for them. ...... lampposts to which a simple plug can be used to connect the car and fast charging points in car parks or at petrol stations," a number of newspapers have been headlining for quite some time.

A key bridge to be built is making charging points available for electric cars. It's a bit of the chicken-and-egg story, without charging points someone is not going to buy an electric car any time soon. They have some solutions to that at Better Place. In several countries, Better Place offers the option of charging your car at a charging point or swapping your empty battery for a full one. But how exactly does that work. What happens when we all stand at the "pump" to "get charged"? And can the electric distribution network really handle these extra peak loads?

If you want to know more about this come to this activity. Speakers on the evening will be Mr Eric Vanaubel (car designs), Mr Hans de Boer (Better Place) and an employee of Enexis (distributor of Electricity). After the short lectures, there will be a lower house debate on a number of propositions related to the topic. The chairman of the day will be our own board chairman Dick Kroon
