Description

What is hyperbaric oxygen therapy ?

In hyperbaric oxygen therapy, a patient is treated under increased pressure with pure oxygen. This increased pressure is achieved by pressurising a hyperbaric chamber (similar to the fuselage of an aircraft, only the wall is thicker). In this process, the patient sits in a kind of aeroplane seat. A group of patients is usually treated at the same time. Once the chamber is pressurised, patients put on a mask through which 100% oxygen is given, alternating with short periods of air.
The effect of the treatment is that much more oxygen than under normal conditions can be absorbed into the bloodstream and transported to where it is needed. This promotes wound healing and fights chronic infections, among other things.

Some housekeeping announcements:

Since we are visiting a healthcare institution, it is possible that the department has clients due to emergency care. This means that we would not be able to go there. We will do our best to inform you as soon as possible.

You can park in the car park. A route description will be sent to you in advance. In principle, parking costs are not included.
