Description

On Friday 3 October, Dr Winnie Gerbens-Leenes (Department of Water Management University of Twente) will give a presentation entitled "Globalisation of water, the concept of the water footprint".

A lot of water is used to produce food, cotton and biomass for energy, especially in agriculture. However, many of these products are not produced close to the consumer, but elsewhere and then traded on the global market. For water, this means that much of the consumption related to consumption has an impact elsewhere. The concept of the water footprint (www.waterfootprint.org) can be used to determine this. Want to know more about this? Then come to the KIVI NIRIA/BTC café on Friday 3 October.
