Kristalbad Enschede

The Kristalbad in Enschede is a wetland recreation area where the water comes from the Enschede sewage treatment plant. A compartmentalised 'water machine' provides purification through light, air and plant growth.
As an ecological connecting zone, the Kristalbad has the function of a zebra crossing for fauna between north-east and south-west Twente. The ecological connecting zone is expected to be suitable for important species of animals. These include frogs, salamanders and lizards, water shrew, pine marten, polecat and badger.
On Wednesday 27 September, we will visit this unique piece of nature. The excursion will start with a reception and presentation about the Kristalbad in the information room of the water treatment plant in Enschede. Afterwards, we will leave for the Kristalbad and can admire this project up close and a guide will tell us all about it.
