Speaker: Hans van der Meent, team leader Mechanical Engineering
Mechanical engineering applications and the development of sustainable products are central to the programme. Besides engineering, a lot of attention is paid to the organisational and commercial side of product development. Subjects like Engineering are covered, such as designing and developing a machine or system. Students carry out research, work on developments and designs during their studies, based on issues from the professional field. Stenden University of Applied Sciences also offers a dual variant of the Mechanical Engineering programme.

Stenden Pre aims to intensify knowledge, research and network development in the field of sustainable plastics. This is done on the basis of a number of themes: Up- and recycling, Biopolymers, Biocomposites and Smart materials. Dr Rudy Folkersma will tell you more about the research assignments and themes in cooperation with industry.

Green PAC:

Green PAC is the knowledge catalyst and enquiry centre for companies in the chemical and plastics industry and knowledge institutions in the North-East Netherlands region. Various research projects are carried out within Green PAC. These are studies that contribute to concrete projects from industry. Further development of plastic products requires more knowledge, both of the materials and of the method of production. The Stenden and Windesheim universities of applied sciences therefore offer the Polymer Engineering master's programme. A unique two-year vocational programme for plastics technologists who want to push their boundaries in the plastics industry.
