NS Maintenance & Service
Within NS, the Service, Maintenance and Modernisation departments are responsible for the maintenance of trains. Previously, this was NedTrain. From technical maintenance to quick servicing and from cleaning to short-term and long-term overhaul, these departments ensure that NS' 1.2 million train passengers reach their destinations on time, safely and in a clean train every day; 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
Over the past 178 years, NS has gained a lot of knowledge and experience in maintaining trains. NS has gradually built this up on Europe's busiest railway network. This experience enables the NS overhaul department to supply train parts with better failure behaviour and make maintenance schedules more efficient. This is done at the high-tech maintenance site Onnen.
KIVI Region North is organising an excursion to the Onnen site on Saturday 26 January. This activity is free for KIVI members and costs €10 for non-members
