The board of the GIV invites you and your partner to a lecture on Monday 18 June 2018 in one of the rooms of the Gorechthuis, Hortuslaan1, 9751 BE in Haren by Mr Dr Martien Visser titled:

"Our energy transition, when will we get rid of natural gas?"

The lecturer Martien Visser (1958) works at Gasunie as Manager Corporate Strategy. He studied Applied Physics at TU Eindhoven and later completed his PhD at TU Delft in the evening with a thesis on the use of coal for electricity production. Martien started his career in wind energy. He later worked at the International Flame Research Foundation in IJmuiden. Since 1992, he has been employed by Gasunie where he has held various positions in technical and economic fields.
Martien is a Fellow at the Clingendael International Energy Programme (CIEP).
Martien is lecturer in energy transition & grid integration, Hanzehogeschool Groningen.

The indicative programme is as follows:

19:40 reception with coffee/tea
20:00 start lecture
20:45 break, coffee/tea, continued lecture
21:30 end of lecture, questions
approx. 22:00 conclusion.

The lecture is also open to members of the Groningen Chemical Circle (GCK) and KIVI Noord. A contribution of € 5.-- p.p. is requested from them, to be paid on the spot to the treasurer. Refreshments other than coffee or tea will be at your own expense.
