Description

On 16 April 2009, the Robotics Centre Twente was launched at the T-Valley 2009 congress in Enschede. Although the robot's 'roots' are in industry, the future for robots is outside, for example in public spaces, operating rooms and living rooms.

In Twente, university and high-tech companies are working together on these non-industrial applications of robots. To give this more hands and feet, the Robotics Centre Twente was started. For instance, work is being done on controlling so-called keyhole surgery using a surgeon robot. But a cattle robot is also under development, for smart(er) cleaning of public spaces. And together with, among others, Het Roessingh, robotic support for patients in their rehabilitation is being worked on. An eye-catcher of the research is the Twente Humanoid.

During our visit, there will be ample opportunity to meet these robots and their 'parents' yourself
