Royal Auping Deventer
Description
Royal Auping bv is the largest independent bed manufacturer in the Netherlands. It started 125 years ago in Johannes Auping's forge in Deventer with the development of the famous spiral base. This was later joined by mattresses and box springs, followed by bed textiles, cabinets and accessories.
In 2014, Auping took the big step of merging all production facilities at one location and also switching completely to Lean Manufacturing from then on.
It is almost impossible to imagine what is involved in bringing together four different product groups, namely wood, steel, mattresses and bed textiles, with totally different production processes cq. lead times, into one central production schedule without intermediate stocks. So we are going to see this for ourselves, after a presentation on what it took to get this far.
