The current company Variass has its origins in 1989. After a management buy-out of a family business that had been engaged in various electronics assembly activities since the 1970s. Clients increasingly demanded complete outsourcing. Variass saw new opportunities in this specific market and started focusing on a broad range of services. Variass has grown into a leading player in the market. Currently, 120 people work at Variass in Veendam and Leeuwarden. Variass' mission statement is: "We are a system supplier of industrial electronic and mechatronic products and want to deliver maximum customer value as an extension of the customer. We aim to build strategic relationships and remain among the top industrial suppliers."

Variass cordially invites you to visit the company. This afternoon will include a presentation on increasing transparency in partner relationships. This is determined by 2 important developments in the industry: miniaturisation & modular design and increasing influence of software. Variass is responding to these developments by doing business together in a more intensive partner relationship. This affects the work of engineers. Variass will give us an insight into how they are tackling this.

Afterwards, a tour of the factory will be provided. It will be concluded with snacks and drinks
