Description

Exhibition:

Peredvizhniki

Meet the Peredvizhniki: a group of artists who rocked the Russian art world in the late 19th century. In a turbulent time with great contrasts between rich and poor, they chose to elevate the lives of ordinary people into art. One such example is Wool gas draggers by Ilya Repin, which will be on display in a major retrospective exhibition at the Drents Museum along with 72 other paintings. All works are from the collection of the State Russian Museum in St Petersburg.

And, of course, the permanent exhibitions. See also the website.

The tour will also focus on the major renovation that the museum underwent a few years ago.

The former coach house was first moved in its entirety at the time and later repositioned higher. The facades were made entirely of glass on the underside.
