Interaction of transport, environment and economy
This time we are guests of the Combi Terminal Twente (CTT) in Hengelo where we will be hosted by Gerco Linthorst and Andre Pluimers. The subject ties in with the KIVI annual theme 'sustainable mobility'.
CTT loads and transports a growing number of sea containers with special container ships to and from ports such as Rotterdam and Antwerp in combination with local road transport from terminals such as in Hengelo. Barge transport contributes to solving congestion problems and preventing unnecessary environmental pollution, while CTT facilities have a positive effect on business activity and the economy in the eastern Netherlands.
