Description

Gasunie and Nuon are each building their own natural gas storage facility in the underground salt layers near Zuidwending (municipality of Veendam). They are working closely with AkzoNobel in this respect because the company holds the licence for leaching the cavities (salt extraction).
Three companies are active at the Zuidwending site. Gasunie and Nuon each realise their own underground storage and AkzoNobel is involved as it is the holder and "operator" of the salt extraction licence.
These three companies frequently work together in terms of informing the immediate area.

Gather at 15.30 after which we will first receive a presentation about the facility, after which we will have the opportunity to see for ourselves what has been realised on the site.
Some housekeeping announcements:

Everyone must carry a valid identification document;
During the tour, helmets, fire-retardant overalls, goggles and work shoes are compulsory (PPE). These will be provided by the Gasunie with the exception of the shoes. You must provide these yourself (possibly at least sturdy closed shoes);
No mobile phones may be taken onto the installation during the tour.
