Visit Wasser - & Schiffahrtamt Emden
Description
This is a second (morning) visit to the Wasser- & Schiffahrtamt (WSA) in Emden (part of the Bundesministerium für Verkehr, Bau und Stadtentwicklung).

A presentation will be given in Emden on mission, work and ambitions of the WSA. More specifically, the WSA will make a presentation on the "Deepening of the Ems (German part)". This will benefit the VW plant in Emden. Here, a connection will be made with the accessibility of VW Logistics (Autoport) with its transhipment facilities. Indeed, the VW concern is currently developing an international logistics hub.
Therefore, a contribution by Mr Wildeboer of Autoport is sought in the programme.
After lunch, the programme will continue preferably with a presentation and viewing of the rehabilitation operation of the Emden sea lock. After all, this topic ties in well with the morning programme and is close to the Hauptamt of the Water & Shipping Administration in terms of location. This part of the programme will be provided by Herr Berend Snippe,Leiter der Niederlassung Emden.
As other options for the afternoon programme, a visit to "die Deichrückverlegung im Landkreis Ammerland bei Westerstede" is still possible. Here, the WSA has created an additional river area of 40 ha in the last two years. Then either "eine Besichtigung von ein technisch Bauwerk, das Leda-Sperrwerk. With these last two options, then, the morning programme will also be adjusted. After all, a presentation of the "Theme VW-Werk/Hafenentwicklung" is then no longer very obvious because of an integral - and content-consistent - day programme.
However, depending on the weather, the interest of the registered participants (hence the specific interest questions to be answered when registering) and the time available, we will decide in detail how to organise the afternoon programme.
