Description

The New Year's reception will feature a presentation on the topic, crop circles. Not a vague and intuition-based approach but sound scientific analysis in a catchy story with beautiful light images will enliven our reception.

Crop circles continue to capture our attention because they continue to capture the imagination, but also always give rise to discussions, especially between those who believe in makers of extraterrestrial origin and those who assume they were made by pranksters.

Eltjo Haselhoff has investigated crop circles scientifically and has been allowed to publish his findings in the scientific journal 'Physiologia Plantarum'. He has worked out the light-bulb theory based on measurements. His theory states - in short - that some crop circles are made under the presence of orbs, which give off electromagnetic radiation. He discovered this from the anomalies he found in the nodes of crop circle plants. His study leaves open whether the orbs are a natural phenomenon or have a transcendental or extraterrestrial origin

Speaker(s)

dr Eltjo H. Haselhoff; Marketing Manager at Philips Healthcare.
Haselhoff is the author of several publications in the field of crop circles, including the book "The Deepening Complexity of Crop Circles", which has been published in 5 languages. From the circles of the Dutch association of sceptics Skepsis, his activities were sharply criticised. He chaired the Dutch branch of the international Center for Crop Circle Studies (CCCS) for several years, and was the first to receive the Frontier Science Award in 2001 for his research on crop circles.
