Textbook example of energy-neutral construction
Description
Four experts and experience experts will take a closer look at the energy management of the built environment in the Netherlands. They will discuss, among other things, the possible contribution of the built environment to energy management and CO2 emission reduction to be achieved as a European standard in the Netherlands by 2050. What has already been achieved in this and what is expected for the future?
We are guests of the Christiaan Huygens College, the first energy-neutral school building in the Netherlands. As a practical example of energy management, we pay ample attention to this building, its realisation and the combination of sustainable energy measures used.
Among other things, the school has an Energy Roof+ that generates both heat and electricity and a heat pump installation with heat and cold storage. A heat network combines supply and demand from the school building, adjacent sports hall and future residential area. Air treatment, underfloor heating and cooling and the well-insulated facade ensure a very pleasant indoor climate. Thus, the architecturally exceptional school provides a productive and stimulating environment for both pupils and staff.
