This is the Techcafé

Welcome to the Mikrocentrum Techcafé. The central clubhouse venue for the high-tech and manufacturing industry where we have in-depth discussions on important topics in the manufacturing industry. Whether you are an engineer, designer, entrepreneur or student, our Techcafé offers you the chance to network, exchange ideas and learn more about the latest developments in the industry.

The Techcafé is organised by DSPE and Mikrocentrum

Varied topics
Each edition focuses on a different topic, ranging from smart manufacturing processes to sustainability and from automation to 3D printing. During the Techcafé, industry experts share their knowledge and experience. The aim of our Techcafé is to inspire, inform and encourage participants to develop and implement new ideas in their own organisations. This edition: Materials, functionality, cost and manufacturability

Materials play an important and sometimes even crucial role in the operation of a (high-tech) system. Depending on the situation, you approach the choice of materials from different perspectives. These include function, lead time, cost price, manufacturability and machine availability, or the 'materials selection wheel'. During the Techcafé on 22 February, talk show host Edwin de Zeeuw will talk to:

  • Jack Cooijmans, R&D Manager at Thermo Fisher Scientific
  • Tim van Kampen, Technical Director at Ceratec Technical Ceramics B.V.
  • Frank Molster, Project Manager at Leiden Instrument Maker's School
  • Erik Tempelman, Professor at TU Delft
