From hammers to AI, Lode Lauwaert discusses important topics that all revolve around the same core: engineering is not neutral. That is the message both for engineers and for all of us. Because technology, that's us.

Lode Lauwaert comes to update us on developments around AI and the related ethics. As a professor, he lectures on this topic at the engineering school in Leuven. This time he wants to share with us his knowledge about it.

AI is in the spotlight. Many articles are being written about it. And the Nobel Prize in Physics was recently awarded for it to John Hopfield and Geofry Hinton both pioneers in this field. Two columns by Lode have already appeared in 'The Engineer' in July and December 2023. Earlier in 2020, he published the book "We robots" about the positive and shadow sides of AI.

Now we can meet him in person and engage in the discussion.
