Description

We would like to welcome you to restaurant/grill 't Vijverhof in Terneuzen on Thursday 16 February for our usual Annual Meeting. Unlike previous years, this is a meeting without dinner. This year, we will have dinner on the Oosterschelde estuary with our delicious Oosterschelde lobster.
Last year, we had the annual meeting in Goes, so this year we will have the annual meeting on the "other side" again, i.e. in Terneuzen.

We will start the annual meeting at 7.30 pm. The regional board will give an account of its regional policy in 2011 to its members. We are open to your opinions on the state of affairs within our region and you can express your ideas for lectures, visits and activities.
To strengthen our board, we are still looking for enthusiastic board members (preferably living north of the Westerschelde). If you would like to apply, are interested or have other questions about board membership, please contact one of the regional board members.
After the annual meeting, we will continue with a lecture provided by Fluor on 'Infrastructural aspects when investigating alternative geographical locations for concrete plants'.
Mainly due to increased land prices, many Dutch municipalities have been trying to relocate concrete plants outside their municipal boundaries in recent years. For the concrete plants in question, the alternative locations often offer less favourable infrastructural preconditions. With the deployment of additional transport and storage facilities, such locations can usually still be made suitable. In this lecture, Jos Roebroek (Technical Director/Mechanical Consultant at Fluor) gives an insight into some of the aspects and issues surrounding the possible relocation of concrete plants.
The presentation is based on related studies carried out by Fluor/Jos Roebroek.
Emphasis of these studies: the suitability of alternative locations especially on logistics and the required infrastructure for raw materials and finished products. The presentation will highlight preconditions, logistical difficulties and opportunities and potential solutions. Participants can test their logistics skills through a case study.
At 10pm, we would like to conclude the lecture/annual meeting with a drink and some snacks.

Let your opinion be heard and sign up for this evening. This activity is open to members of the Zeeland region only.

PLEASE NOTE: registrations for the annual meeting must be in by Monday 13 February!
