Description

On Thursday evening, 16 October, from 21.30 to about 23.45, we will visit the EPC in Lokeren.
EPC is the very modern and particularly ecological printing house of DE PERSGROEP led by Mr Christian van Thillo.
EPC is a pioneering project conceived and developed with courage and creativity. High quality and environmental friendliness are of paramount importance there, and the most advanced printing press is at this company.
EPC's approach was emulated in Denmark, the Netherlands, Germany and Switzerland.
The umbrella DE PERSGROEP includes De Tijd, De Morgen, Het Laatste Nieuws and further newspapers such as Dag Allemaal and TV Familie, which are all printed in Lokeren.
In addition, Het Algemeen Dagblad, Trouw, Het Parool, De Volkskrant and l'Echo belong to the same umbrella DE PERSGROEP.
We will first get a presentation with film about DE PERSGROEP and EPC's role in this story. Then, from around 10.30pm, the tour of the print shop will start with the start-up of newspaper printing.
Technical Manager Dirk van Bertrem, will accompany our group and answer our (technical) questions.

You will receive a route description and programme for this excursion a week beforehand.
