Description

On Wednesday 8 February, we are guests of Kraker Trailers in Axel. This innovative trailer manufacturer has focused exclusively on the development and production of moving-floor trailers since 2000.

Kraker trailers have a sliding floor instead of a tailboard. Because the floor slides, bulk and general cargo can be unloaded without tilting the trailer or using a pallet truck.

Thanks to its extensive knowledge and know-how, the company can rightly call itself "Masters in Moving Floor Trailers". In addition to the trailers from the existing delivery programme, numerous trailers have been developed, each of which answers the haulier's transport needs.

Kraker Trailers is still expanding its sales market in Europe. Its strong point here is its innovative character. Central to this is the question of where the trailers can be improved and made more user-friendly, and where they can help the transporter achieve a higher return by, for example, having the lowest possible own weight, a long service life, the widest possible range of use and lower operating costs.

Currently, Kraker builds some 500 trailers a year, 10% of the European market. To continue growing within and outside Europe, they have developed the trailer construction into the K-Force, a "construction kit" concept. It is a strong, lightweight trailer assembled largely with bolted instead of welded joints. Compact transport of trailer building blocks and on-site assembly enables it to serve new (geographical) markets.

A new production line with a welding robot and a largely automated spraying system has been developed for this concept. During our visit, we will explain the technology and the challenges experienced during development and start-up.
