Description

This year, we would like to offer you an excursion (by luxury coach) to the world port of Antwerp. We will visit the Port Information Centre and various companies and locations under the expert guidance of a guide.

The port of Antwerp is very close for us Zeelanders. We visit the Port Information Centre where, after a film, we watch an interactive exhibition. Through information panels, computer presentations, interactive stands and various simulators, you can discover the different complementary aspects of the port and transport world.

This will be followed by a guided tour of various companies and locations. For instance, we will look at Nova Natie (storage and distribution of mineral water), Combinant (container distribution by rail). We will look at the Scheldt-Rhine Canal and be informed about the chemical industry and container handling at this port. We will then look at the lock operations at the Zandvliet and Berendrecht locks and get a view of the Deurganckdok and Synthesis.

You are welcome (after registration) on Thursday 20 September 2012. The bus leaves at 12.00 in Terneuzen (Westerscheldetunnel P+R bus station) and then travels to Antwerp via pick-up points Axel (De Halle) and Hulst (Morres). You can also come to Antwerp on your own and join the bus from the Port Information Centre. When registering, please indicate your departure point (Terneuzen, Axel, Hulst, Antwerp). We will be back in Terneuzen at about 6 pm.

Register quickly as we can only accommodate a maximum of 50 participants. Participation in order of registration, with members of the Zeeland Region having priority.
You will receive a route description and detailed programme for this excursion a week beforehand. We can offer this programme to members free of charge. Guests pay € 10.00 per person.
