Unique view of the Sluiskil tunnel
Description
In the Koegorspolder south of Terneuzen, a new road link under the Ghent-Terneuzen Canal is being built: the Sluiskil tunnel.
As with the construction of the Westerscheldetunnel at the time, we decided to organise a first visit to this special construction project early in the building process.
The tunnel information centre is located right next to the construction site at Koegorsstraat 1c and has been officially open since early 2012. Especially for KIVI NIRIA members, the information centre will be open on Friday 13 April 2012.
We are welcomed by the management of BV Kanaalkruising Sluiskil (BV KKS). Besides an explanation of the drilling process, we are shown a film and it is possible to take a look at the construction site from the viewpoint.
