Visit to Sluiskil tunnel
Description
On Friday 13 April 2012, we as KIVI Zeeland were already guests at the tunnel information centre shortly after the start of construction of the Sluiskil tunnel. Now that the tunnel is about to open (open to traffic on 23 May 2015), we were again invited to come and admire the final result.
KIVI Zeeland acted as one of the main sponsors for the creation of the dialect booklet 'Tussen het Axelsche Gat en 't Koeischorre'. Authors Levien de Groote (resident of Schapenbout) and Fred Lindenberg (Sluiskil tunnel road and engineering project manager) compiled and published their e-mail exchanges in dialect (Zeelandic Flemish and Yerseks). The proceeds of this booklet benefited relief fund Unicef and Hospice Terneuzen. In return, Fred Lindenberg invited us to visit this amazing construction project with KIVI Zeeland.
The tunnel information centre is right next to the construction site at Koegorsstraat 1c and has been officially opened since early 2012. Especially for KIVI Zeeland, the information centre will be open on Thursday 22 January 2015 at 7pm.

Members will have priority for registration. You will receive a confirmation, itinerary and programme for this excursion a few days beforehand.
