Vlaeynatie is a Ghent/Antwerp-based logistics port company specialising in dry bulk handling. The company has established itself at Autrichehaven in Westdorpe and currently has operations at two adjacent terminals. One does not only focus on storage and transhipment, the emphasis is on adding value by offering a variety of services to handle these products as well.

Therefore, for this new site they have focused on handling:
-Fertilisers, but mainly in the niche of water soluble.
-Sugar.
Besides these 2 core activities, they are currently working on the start-up of 3MCT, the container terminal that is primarily intended to provide container logistics for both terminals, but will also open up in the future to develop activities for third parties.
Vlaeynatie has 2 more logistics companies in Spain where it develops equivalent activities for the same industrial customer as in Westdorpe.

Fertiliser terminal
Vlaeynatie (founded in 1845) was until now mainly active in the port of Antwerp. In 2015, Vlaeynatie started building a warehouse with a total area of 32,000 m² on the previously empty Axel plain. The warehouse will mainly be used for the storage and transhipment of fertilisers. It also houses the necessary bagging equipment.

Sugar silos

The storage capacity of the first new silo is 80,000 tonnes. This silo has a diameter of about 50 metres and is 68 metres high. A second silo has since been added. In total, there are four planned sugar silos. Also realised are, an unloading area for trucks, several underground tunnels, a bag building and technical areas.

KIVI members and introducers are welcome from 18h00 and will be welcomed with a snack and a drink. An info moment is planned and afterwards a comprehensive tour of the terminal will be given. This is expected to take about two hours
