Description

Attention, changed date (previously 20 April)

On Tuesday 31 May, we would like to welcome you to Uitspanning "De Goederenloods"
in Goes for a lecture on wind turbines.

The lecture will be given by Mr Kees Versteegh who has been working in wind energy for about 30 years. His career runs parallel to the development of the wind energy industry which will be explained in the lecture. The development of wind turbines is central to this and the various typologies will be explained with their advantages and disadvantages, e.g. directly and indirectly driven generators, but also how to design a wind turbine.
Following on from this, the current technological developments will be indicated, on the one hand driven by offshore installations, but also to be able to open up less windy locations. What are the limits and solution directions in this respect? What is being done on R&D and how to take advantage of it.
A good design is not enough so how does the wind turbine market work and what has made the current market leaders successful. What role does the Netherlands play in this and what is our role in a European context.

How a Dutch company like XEMC-Darwind where Versteegh works, can and thinks to hold its own in this market will be used as an example to give an insight into wind energy and especially its technical side
