Science quiz
Description
The board of KIVI NIRIA Students Twente is busy organising a dazzling science quiz as part of the 50th anniversary activities of the UT.
The science quiz will take place on Wednesday 18 May 2011 from 13.00 - 17.00 in De Waaier. Besides teams of students, lecturers and professors from the three TUs, there will also be teams competing with representatives from business and politics.
Former rector Frans van Vught and Peter van der Hoogt will ensure that the quiz is presented expertly and with the necessary humour. Professors Dave Blank, Erwin Seijdel and Petra de Weerd-Nederhof will be in charge of the judging.
The musical entertainment will be provided by Edwin Dertien on the piano and Gijs van Oort on the saxophone.
Participating teams should consist of five people. The teams will be presented with 25 technical questions to be solved using multiple-choice answers. The background to the questions varies from mechanical to computer engineering and from chemical to electrical engineering. In short, from as many technical directions as possible so that every team has equal chances.
Again this year, there are great prizes to be won. Besides a prize for the best team, there is also a prize for the smartest student.
Registration and participation is completely free and will soon be possible via the website www.dewetenschapsquiz.nl.
