The plane of the future
Description
Since the first powered aeroplane flight in 1903, aircraft have become increasingly similar. To a layman, the difference between a Boeing and an Airbus is hardly noticeable. But the possibilities of making the traditional aircraft even better and more efficient are running out.
What will the aircraft of the future look like?
In this current affairs lecture, we will be introduced to aircraft consisting only of a wing, with no fuselage, electrically powered aircraft, space planes that fly from London to Tokyo in two hours, and other aircraft of the future.
