july 15, 2020 - Questions to KIVI boards

Dear KIVI member or agency employee,

Just before the corona crisis erupted, the KIVI Executive Board set up and asked the working group 'Modernising KIVI Regulations' to look into KIVI's, sometimes outdated, regulations.

As a board member in the main board, a department or region, you are an important pillar in shaping our association, or a member or employee of KIVI involved in developing and/or implementing policy

For an association to function properly, agreements are necessary that determine who may become a member, who may regulate what and how. This is laid down in statutes and regulations. The main rules, mainly determined by the Civil Code, are included in articles of association that are notarised. The articles of association then regulate the way that that the association can adopt additional regulations and amend them with a quick amendment procedure.

The working group members are at the point in the process where your help is highly desirable. We ask you to draw on your experiences of governing in the context of bylaws and regulations. Think about obstacles you experience and opportunities you see.

We invite you to do so in writing, or orally, via a video conference individually or as a board to inform us of your experiences and views.

Our time plan is for us to receive your responses by 30 August. You can let us know by e-mail until 14 July whether you would like to convene a video conference with one of our working group members.

Your responses are welcome at e-mail address WerkgroepMKR@kivi.nl. More info can be found on the website.

Furthermore, the association has a number of manuals and handbook in which binding agreements have been made:

  • House style manual

We look forward to your response
