
The Royal Institute of Engineers (KIVI) has announced the three finalists of the Prins Friso Ingenieur Prize 2026. This year, Dr Kirsten Steinbusch, Ir Martijn Otten and Ir Martine Stam are competing for the title of Engineer of the Year.
The Prins Friso Engineer Prize will be awarded for the 12th time this year and puts engineers and their contributions to engineering in the spotlight. "The diversity of the finalists perfectly illustrates how engineers play an impactful role in our society," said Pascal van der Molen, director of KIVI.
In addition to the jury prize, the public can also cast a vote for their favourite finalist. Anyone can vote via the finalists' dedicated web pages, where their projects and participation videos can also be viewed. You can cast your vote until 9 March.
The award ceremony will take place during the Day of the Engineer on 11 March 2026 at TU Eindhoven. You can register for the award ceremony via this link!
