Conrad's premium
So for the best ambassador of engineering, KIVI has had this special award since 1870:Conrad's premium. The award, named after railway engineer and KIVI co-founder F.W. Conrad, consists of a certificate, a gold-plated medal and a cash sum of around two thousand euros, from a bequest Conrad left upon his death. Previous winners include the TV programme Klokhuis and the NEMO Science Museum in Amsterdam. The prize is awarded by the KIVI main board, on the recommendation of the Science, Technology & Society Council.
