The Royal Institute of Engineers (KIVI) is the professional association of and for engineers and thus the knowledge network that ensures support, visibility and quality of engineers in the Netherlands.
KIVI has almost 50 professional departments, with these departments we organise 300+ events and with our programmes we connect professionals, students and organisations. From the KIVI bureau, and with the regional managers, we arrange the daily ins and outs, contacts are maintained with the departments, members, educational institutions and companies.
And that is exactly the role of the regional managers at KIVI.
Are you good at organising, are you interested in engineering without wanting to dive into it yourself, do you get excited about bringing people with different knowledge backgrounds together, can you inspire engineers to organise activities within the association? As regional manager, you are the pivot between KIVI members, the knowledge we exchange, activities, partners (collectives) and the outside world. In short, an exciting, innovative and inspiring job.
What will you do?
- You will be the point of contact for departments together with 2 experienced and fun colleagues. Each in their own region.
- Providing support to KIVI branch/regional departments (in terms of website, promotion, listening ear, occasionally attending meetings)
- Guide KIVI branch/regional departments with their vision and help with their strategy (thinking along with Measurement & Verification)
- Supervise the KIVI Students and Young KIVI Engineers departments
- Assisting with and during events, fairs and open days
- Visiting relevant external events and fairs in the area
- Looking for collaborations with companies/associations and educational institutions in your region
- Informing (student) engineers about the advantages of KIVI (membership)
- Together with vibrant and knowledgeable colleagues, putting KIVI on the map
- Helping new and existing members with (keeping) their membership and online community profile up-to-date
- Helping departmental boards recruit new board members
- Recruit new collective members in the region. Collective memberships are through the employer (the company), so you recruit companies.
- You work two days a week from the 'KIVI room' at Eindhoven University of Technology. Here you are close to the students, alumni, lecturers and school boards.
Your skill set
- Communication skills; active listening, enthusing, convincing, informing
- Presentation skills; presenting for large and small/young and old audiences about KIVI
- Creative thinker; representing KIVI in new ways in cooperation with marketing team
- Willing to travel in the region; recruit external parties in the region and build partnerships
- Experience with MS office required (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Experience working in CRM is a plus (Dynamics 365
- Network in education is an advantage (especially understanding connections/network; who to contact for what)
- Flexible in connection with occasional irregular working hours (weekend or evening events)
- Willingness to travel to The Hague periodically to see your colleagues again
- Living in the Southeast Brabant region (Eindhoven/Tilburg/'s-Hertogenbosch) and working from home in Brabant. Possibly working in The Hague and driving that way regularly is also an option.
- Good command of the Dutch and English languages.
Conditions
Employment type:
- 32-hour fixed-term contract for one year. After the one-year contract, chance of indefinite contract.
- Salary: € 3,000 - € 4,000 (Depending on your knowledge and experience)
- Hybrid (home office, TU/e room, The Hague office)
