On Wednesday 5 February 2020, award "the golden oil drop" was presented during the symposium "that runs smoothly again".

This symposium was organised by the Haagse Hogeschool (HHS) in cooperation with KIVI Maintenance Department. Over 60 participants attended the symposium. Among them were a number of students from the Asset Management and Maintenance (AMM) minor.
In the AMM minor, students researched the status of asset management at various companies and finally gave an advisory report on how these companies can develop in the short and long term. A poster presentation was used to explain to the symposium participants, how this process was carried out.
The guest speaker took attendees through the "science of lubrication". With a dose of theory complemented by practical examples, it was indicated that the field of tribology (friction) and lubrication is a neglected child and there is a lot to gain in the field of maintenance with it.
The field of maintenance is in full swing. Installations are becoming increasingly complex, productivity must increase, reliability must be increased. With the rise of sensoring and big data, predicting maintenance is a hot topic. The University of Twente is a leader in "predictive maintenance". This year, a major research project was launched into this predictive maintenance involving not only the University of Twente but also The Hague University of Applied Sciences and several companies in the Netherlands, among others. The concerned lector "smart sensoring" of the HHS gave a short preview of this research.
The awards are presented annually to people or organisations, who are committed to maintenance, tribology and lubrication. The personal winners 2019 are: two lecturers at The Hague University of Applied Sciences, an author, a technical copywriter and the guest speaker "the science of lubrication"
In addition to these individuals, the award was also given to two organisations:
KIVI Maintenance Department for promoting the field and co-founding the maintenance learning line at The Hague University of Applied Sciences.
The Asset Management and Maintenance minor, which is offered when attending the Mechanical Engineering course at The Hague University of Applied Sciences.
