Description

Between Utrecht Centraal and Lunetten, the tracks will be doubled, creating seven tracks here; three in the direction of Arnhem and four in the direction of Den Bosch. Near Waterlinieweg, where the tracks towards Arnhem and Den Bosch split, two dive-unders will be built using the diaphragm wall method. With these flyovers, the trains towards Arnhem and Den Bosch will be able to pass each other unhindered.

The diveunders will be realised by Heijmans. The client is Prorail. The total investment for this project is 87 million euros

We are welcomed to Prorail's construction site, where we are given an overview of the overall work. Mr Wiljan de Moor of engineering firm Movares will explain the technical aspects and execution of the dive-unders. After this, we will have the opportunity to view the work on site. One of the things we will take a close look at are the diaphragm walls of the tunnel wall.
