Description

Scientists have been dealing with Artificial Intelligence (AI) for decades. In recent years, the maturity of AI has increased, leading to growing interest in AI beyond the walls of universities. The availability of large amounts of data, increased computing power and the maturity of algorithms have provided some appealing examples. As a result, many organisations have started thinking about deploying AI and AI techniques are increasingly being applied in practice.

AI is also an interesting topic for the HBO-ICT programme at Utrecht University of Applied Sciences. Our students are trained to become professionals who help organisations deploy new technologies, such as AI. The HU Applied AI Symposium is organised to enthuse students and provide more information about AI. Not only far away in Silicon Valley, but also close by in the Netherlands. This year's theme is "Connecting / Cobots". With the increase in interest towards AI, there are also growing fears that many jobs will be completely taken over by machines in the future. In practice, however, AI mostly plays a complementary role, and the symposium focuses on the AI systems that support employees in their daily tasks.

A number of top speakers from high-profile companies will talk about how their organisations use AI in practice. They will give examples of applications, paint a picture of the future and tell what skills ICT professionals need who want to get started with AI. Great for students, but certainly also for anyone with an interest in applied AI. The symposium will end with a networking reception where attendees - students, companies, teachers - can get to know each other and discuss the application of AI.

This event is in Dutch (talks are in Dutch-language)! Check-out https://aigents.co to discover more events and opportunities for AI & Machine Learning Engineers.

This is an independently organised event of Utrecht University of Applied Sciences and is intended for anyone with an interest in AI. Attendees include students, teachers and companies associated with Utrecht University of Applied Sciences and is open to anyone who wants to learn about AI in an approachable way.
