ThinkThank
During the ThinkThank, a group of engineers from different backgrounds actively contributed ideas on how to further improve the Report a Suspicion app.
The Report a Suspicion app is used by municipalities in the Netherlands to report suspicions of undermining. Undermining is the integration of the criminal world into
After a short presentation by the app's creators and a visit to the KIVI-0070Lab, input was sought on, for example, increasing willingness to report.
The app makers got some of their ideas confirmed but managed to get new angles and solutions from the thinkthank that they are keen to incorporate into the app. Many thanks for all the input and inspiration!
A hackathon on the same theme will be organised in spring 2019.
The focus of the KIVI IT Department in 2019 will be on the themes of a digitally safe Netherlands and digital education in the form of an IT Academy. The KIVI IT Department will organise fewer activities and will focus on making a concrete contribution to a social problem with the help of KIVI members and the KIVI network.
On 20 December, a think tank meeting on digitally supporting physical security in the Netherlands will take place with a demo of the apps 'Undermining' and 'Report a Suspicion'. This ties in with the most recent developments in which Minister Grapperhaus of Justice and Security has announced an additional 100 million euros to tackle undermining from 2019.
We would like to invite participants from politics, municipalities, police, defence and security regions to this meeting. There is limited space available.
We are planning to organise a KIVI IT hackathon in spring 2019 as a follow-up to the ThinkThank. We look forward to an inspiring meeting. Hope to see you on 20 December!
