Description
You can theorise a lot about the topic of "greening", "smart" buildings, making them zero on the meter or even energy feed-in from buildings, but what is the practice? How do you get the "business case" around? What role will this play in construction? As an engineer or a consumer, how do I get involved in this?
On 14 March next, TU Eindhoven will host the first part of a mini-seminar organised by KIVI in cooperation with TU Eindhoven. Several major parties there will talk about how well they are doing or think they will do.
On behalf of Platform31, a government programme that tries to accelerate developments within both the office market and the housing market in this area, Wytze Kuijper will put forward a number of challenging propositions related to the business case for offices.
The famous "Edge" building at the zuidas in Amsterdam is zero on the meter and has a revolutionary design. Erik Ubels of OVG has been involved in the design of this building through DeLoitte, and will talk about it.
Two postgraduate students from TU, Rajesh Kotireddy and Sanket Puranik will briefly talk about the topics of their studies in this field, net zero energy buildings and smart demand management in buildings.
On behalf of TU Eindhoven, Bauke de Vries, vice dean of Bouwkunde and an active publicist himself, will explain the European H2020 grant project in the field of Smart Cities and Communities.
After the presentations, there will be ample opportunity for in-depth discussions with the speakers on the topics.
This is the first part of a two-part mini-seminar in the field of Smart Buildings and Smart Energy. The second part will be organised on the 25th of April 2016.
