Alternative energy for Defence
Description
INTERACTIVE SEMINAR: How does defence get energy?
DUE TO HIGH INTEREST, THE OPPORTUNITY TO REGISTER HAS BEEN EXTENDED.
THE SUBSCRIPTION NOW FINALLY CLOSES ON SUNDAY 14 MARCH AT 11:59 p.m.
The civilian world is developing many different forms of renewable energy. Which developments are of interest to defence?
Energy is vital for military operations. Without energy, everything comes to a standstill. The energy supply of people (the modern soldier), equipment (driving, sailing, flying) and housing (compounds) requires continuous attention.
The cost of energy in military operations is significantly higher than in the civilian world. Transport of fuels is the biggest logistical component.
Defence is looking for alternative energy sources:
- Is it possible to generate energy locally around and near compounds?
- Can aircraft fuel be made from algae?
- Is the fuel cell suitable for military operations?
In this interactive seminar, we want to explore with you the possibilities for Defence to use alternative energy, what the relevant developments are in the civilian sector and which parties are working on future developments.
The evening starts with a plenary introduction to the needs of Defence. Then two rounds of parallel workshops where your input is wanted! Then a plenary closing
