Remia sauces, always a treat!
Description
For process technologists, a visit to the Remia factories is a treat.
Almost the entire process is developed in the company itself, obviously the different sauce recipes are developed, but also, for example, the packaging.
Developing the sauces starts, of course, with the final product that can eventually be sold, but then you also have to figure out how to produce that product in an economical, (food) safe and fully reproducible way. The standard equipment available in the market for that purpose often has to be adapted on site to be able to make just that product.
And that's where packaging also comes into play: not only has Remia developed different types of packaging that are more convenient and/or economical for the user, but the wishes and requirements of the intermediary trade (e.g. supermarkets), which has its own packaging requirements, also have to be taken into account. And all these different types of packaging must be able to be filled, which places special demands on the flexibility of production lines.
The market also demands more and more healthy ingredients, less saturated fats and a sweet taste without sugars. Therefore, the composition of the products is constantly changing, while taste and texture must not change too much in order to retain the special "Remia characteristic".
With increasing sales from abroad, developing "new" flavours is high on the list.
